In Barcelona, the Cozy Haven of Designer Blanca Miró

She’s been impossible to ignore these past few years—bursting with energy, brimming with creativity, and shaking up an industry often stuck in a rut. Spanish fashion is having a moment, and Blanca Miró is right at the heart of it. Her generation craves bold references, fearless prints, and a style that’s equal parts playful and polished. And Blanca? She’s their poster child. Her signature move? Smashing together clashing colors and chaotic patterns that, on paper, shouldn’t work—but somehow always do. The result? A cult following that stretches from luxury fashion brands to chic homeware labels. Once just a fashion student posting her daily outfits online, Blanca has skyrocketed to icon status. In under a decade, the blonde Catalan has launched hit collaborations—think Veste with Maria de la Orden and Delarge with Olivia Álvarez. She’s gotten married, become a mom, and proven herself a style trailblazer. So, what does the apartment of a color-obsessed it-girl look like? We hopped on a plane to Barcelona to see for ourselves.

Who are you, Blanca?
Blanca
I’m Blanca Miró—a fashion and design enthusiast with a deep passion for aesthetics, colors, and thoughtfully crafted objects. I’m the co-founder of La Veste and Delarge, two projects that reflect my love for creativity and individuality. I’m also a huge fan of interiors, which is evident in the way I design my living spaces.

What’s your professional background?
Blanca
My career began in the fashion world, a universe that has always captivated me. I started as a stylist and consultant before launching my own projects. With La Veste, my goal was to reinvent the women’s wardrobe with playful yet timeless pieces. Delarge, my other adventure, was inspired by my love for accessories that can transform an outfit, like a perfectly balanced pair of sunglasses.

How did your upbringing, family, and surroundings shape your taste?
Blanca
My taste was shaped from a young age. My family has always had an eye for beautiful objects, colors, and details. Growing up in Barcelona, I was surrounded by creativity and a strong sense of aesthetics. My mother, an interior designer, was a huge influence on me. Watching her work and seeing how she combined timeless elements with bold, personal touches profoundly shaped my view of design. My parents taught me to value well-made things and to look beyond fleeting trends. The people around me—creative individuals—constantly inspire me, whether through art, music, or simply their unique way of living.
Right now, my life is a beautiful blend of motherhood, creative projects, and rediscovering inspiration in the small moments of everyday life.

Tell us the story of this home.
Blanca
We stumbled upon this space while exploring the neighborhood, and it was love at first sight. The place had soul, incredible light, and so much potential. It spoke to me and made me want to turn it into a refuge for my family while respecting its original character.
TSF
Did you do a lot of renovations?
Blanca
Not really. The house had been renovated two years before we bought it, so it was already in great shape. That allowed us to focus on the interiors—choosing furniture, creating atmospheres that reflect us. We made some adjustments, like rethinking the kitchen while keeping its original foundation. The main challenge was personalizing the space so it felt warm and truly ours, without losing the house’s original charm.
TSF
What kind of atmosphere did you want to create?
Blanca
We wanted a space that reflects who we are—joyful, colorful, and welcoming. It’s a living space above all, where every room tells a story. We also wanted it to be a place where our family feels at home, filled with objects and textures that bring warmth and comfort.

Tell us about a piece in your home you love, your first or your most recent acquisition.
Blanca
My first acquisition, which has followed me to every home, is a vintage red sofa by Tobia Scarpa. I adore it, not just for its design but for the story it carries, making it even more special to me. One of my latest additions is the Rotondo armchair by The Socialite Family, which I chose for Matilda’s room. I love it because I spend so much time in that room with her.
TSF
How would you describe your taste?
Blanca
My taste is eclectic and spontaneous. I love mixing eras, textures, and colors. What draws me the most to an object is its soul—it has to feel timeless. Javi, on the other hand, is much more minimalist, so the decoration of this apartment is a real compromise between the two of us!

What influences your work?
Blanca
So many things—art, architecture, travel, and even the small details of everyday life. I’m also deeply inspired by the people I meet and their stories. If you keep an open mind, anything can spark inspiration.

For the small reading nook, it’s all about color: the saffron yellow Togo lounge chair pops against the dark green woodwork.
Blanca and Javi’s styles blend in every room: the bright color overload of one and the minimalist restraint of the other create an original mix, like in this bedroom, where the pure clarity of white meets the playful, pastel yellow USM furniture.

What does The Socialite Family mean to you?
Blanca
The Socialite Family is a perfect mix of a brand and a media platform. It embodies an elegant, inspiring, and accessible lifestyle while celebrating the uniqueness of families and interiors. It’s a celebration of personal taste and authentic spaces.

What are your favorite pieces from our collection?
Blanca
I love your lighting—it’s the perfect mix of contemporary design and retro lines. It creates a soft, warm glow that’s ideal for a cozy atmosphere. I also have a weakness for your armchairs, with their enveloping shapes and unmatched comfort.

What’s keeping you busy these days?
Blanca
Right now, my life is a beautiful mix of motherhood, creative projects, and finding inspiration in life’s little moments. With La Veste and Delarge, we’re working on exciting new projects set to launch in 2025 and 2026. I’m also expanding my vintage collection and finding beauty in the simple times spent at home with my family.
