EDITO foulard

Constance Gennari, founder and artistic director of The Socialite Family

“Adopting a dog made me realize just how hard it is to find a stylish doghouse. Everything is always in neutral colors, and having beautiful objects for our pets is no longer a given! That’s when I had the idea to repurpose fabric scraps from The Socialite Family—gorgeous materials like jacquard and velvet that come with a major advantage: they’re super easy to clean in the washing machine. So now, our doghouse is both chic and adventure-proof.”

“This experience made me want to go even further. Why not design a collar and leash someday?”

Interview

CONSTANCE GENNARI & UNO, 16 MONTHS

Constance Gennari, founder and artistic director of The Socialite Family, welcomes us alongside Uno, her Golden Retriever—and the undisputed mascot of the house.

What’s your favorite activity with your dog?
Taking him for off-leash countryside walks—pure freedom! He gallops like a horse, and I can just feel how happy he is. His ultimate joy? Rolling around in muddy ponds. Of course.

Where does your dog sleep?
Everywhere. Uno has no fixed address—one night in his doghouse, the next on the carpet, always strategically moving to stay close to us. At bedtime, though, he settles in right outside our bedroom door, like a loyal little sentry.

What’s the last mischievous thing he did?
He has a thing for stealing my four-year-old son Léonard’s stuffed animals… specifically to nibble off their ears. A questionable design choice, but hey, he’s committed!

Interview

RICHARD DELASSUS, 47, Maui (4 years old) & Phénix Leone (6 months old)

Richard Delassus, a hairstylist and makeup artist for haute couture shows, welcomes us with his two tiny companions: Maui, 4, named after the Hawaiian island, and Phénix Leone, 6 months old—his name a nod to his master’s fiancé (like a phoenix rising from the ashes, you get the idea) and his father, Leone.

What’s your favorite activity with your dogs?
Oh, taking them everywhere! Work, leisure, you name it. They’re small, easygoing, and always up for an adventure. And then there’s the park—it’s as much fun for them as it is for me. I get to socialize at Buttes-Chaumont or along the Canal Saint-Martin, and they get to sniff everything in sight. Win-win!

Where do your dogs sleep?
In my bed, obviously! They double as my personal night-time heaters. I love having them with me.

What’s the last mischievous thing they did?
Phénix has an undeniable passion for unraveling things. Wool balls? He’ll spread them across the apartment like an art installation. Toilet paper? He’s mastered the endless-roll technique. Do I ever scold him? Of course not. That level of commitment deserves respect.

Mélanie Utzmann Huynh, Sticky (11 years old) and Tilly (2 years old)

The founder of the beauty brand Holidermie welcomes us with her two toy poodles, Sticky and Tilly, gifted by her father and flown in directly from… Hong Kong! Special mention for Sticky Rice’s nickname: “because she’s white and sticky.”

What’s your favorite activity with your dogs ?
My morning yoga at eight o’clock. They’re always on the mat with me. Of course, they do downward dog!

Where do your dogs sleep ?
Both of them sleep with my daughters, on their duvets, in their beds. That’s how it’s always been.

What’s the last mischief your dogs got into ?
Sticky doesn’t really get into trouble—it’s more Tilly. For my birthday, we went out for dinner, and we had left some appetizers on the coffee table. Of course, she devoured the taramasalata!

Interview

CAMILLE MÉNARD, YORGO TLOUPAS & ULYSSE, 1.5 YEARS OLD

Yorgo Tloupas, artistic director, and Camille Ménard, designer, welcome us into their home, accompanied by Ulysse, their one-and-a-half-year-old feline adventurer.

What’s your favorite activity with your cat?
Traveling! Ulysse lives for it. He’s completely at ease on high-speed trains and in the car—sprawled out on his back, totally relaxed. Regional trains? Not so much, oddly enough. He also loves roaming around freely, no leash needed. Oh, and get this—he even took a solo trip via Blablacar! Truly living up to his name.

Where does your cat sleep?
Sometimes, we have no idea. That’s just how cats are. Otherwise, he’s recently developed a deep attachment to an extremely uncomfortable cardboard box perched at the very top of our wardrobe—perfect for overseeing his kingdom. And more and more, he’s making his way into our bed… we’ve basically lost all control.

What’s the last mischievous thing he did?
Ulysse? Mischief? Impossible. He’s a one-of-a-kind, perfect cat. That said… he did recently decide to shred a pineapple—yes, a pineapple—that Camille got for her birthday. Also, a couple of artist friends created a portrait of him. One evening, I came home, looked at the painting, and—well, I’ll let you guess what fresh surprise was waiting right next to it.

Agathe Leroy & Winnie, 9 months old

Agathe Leroy, a young fashion designer, welcomes us with Winnie, her hyperactive little cocker.

What’s your favorite activity with your dog ?
Cuddles and kisses!

Where does your dog sleep ?
Most of the time? In my bed. Obviously.

What’s the last naughty thing your dog did ?
He ate an entire stack of crêpes my roommate had just made. In one go. In two seconds. We were powerless. It was a crime of opportunity.
