Blue, As Far As Our Eyes Can See
Blue was once a colour of difficult creation ! The pigments were rare and tints were hard to reproduce successfully. With this in mind, blue remains a colour of precious spirit, a symbol of refinement and sophistication. It’s a colour that when placed in bedrooms, evokes a sense of escapism and tranquility. From hues of slate to petrol, blue is vivid and serene at the same time, it’s a colour that develops the imagination and incites fantasy. Blue awakens a sense of vastness and is regularly placed on walls of interiors to expand the perception of space. Therefore, when used in corridors it softens the enclosed darkness whereas when applied on a singular wall the space opens up, giving the room more light. We love to see complex and somber shades used in living rooms, it harmonises the space whilst providing depth and sensuality. Blue marries well with warmer materials, such as wood and metal for a vibrant contrast. This latter use of blue is certainly our preference.
